Standing in line at the parts counter is no fun. In fact, it is a drag. Want an alternative? You've got one right here on this Suburban-Dedicated Used Parts Locator page.
The thing is, it is not always necessary or desirable to buy new. Many parts, like alternators, a/c compressors or power steering pumps can be rebuilt like new and will give you years of satisfying service. And buying rebuilt parts saves on the environment, too. Much of the raw material used to make the part can be reused while we all save because energy will not be consumed creating parts that already exist and are perfectly useable.
Alternators, for instance, when they are rebuilt, have the outer housing and brackets from the old unit. A rebuilder or refurbisher replaces the windings, bearings, brushes, magnets, and other components that have worn out. He or she then installs them into the old housing and, bingo, you have a part that will give you years of service.
Same with transmissions. The rebuilder installs valves, bands, valves, bearings, and seals into the old housing. You come away with a transmission that may even be better than your original. Why? Because the rebuilder may use better materials in rebuilding the unit.
Think about a remanufactured engine. First, the refurbisher disassembles and cleans the motor. Then s/he cleans the block and rebores the cylinders. After that s/he installs new pistons and rings, and grinds and reseats the valves. Next s/he cleans all oil galleys, installs a new oil pump, and reworks the cylinder head. When all is said and done, the engine is ready for you to purchase and use in your Suburban for many years of reliable service.
To find used parts, like a/c compressors, body parts like fenders and hoods, and even seats and dashboards, contact our used parts dealers. No need to actually go to a salvage yard and dig around on wrecked cars. Use the internet to locate a dealer. Even contact him or her by email, providing a full description of the part you need, and find out if they have it, when it's available, and the price. Finding parts this way is much easier - we guarantee it.
You can also key in the part information right on this page. Start with the Suburban year, make, and model. Select type of part (used, new or remanufactured), the category (for example, air conditioning), name (compressor), and quantity. Our search engines begin looking the world over for your Suburban part. This includes salvage yards, remanufacturers, refurbishers, parts stores, junkyards, surplus stores, and new and used car dealers. After we have found your Suburban part, we email or phone you to inform you of the price, how many we have in stock, and when we can ship.
